2020 Spring RecFIN Technical Committee Meeting

The RecFIN Technical Committee will hold its Spring meeting in Portland, OR on April 22nd and 23rd. This meeting provides RecFIN the opportunity to meet face to face with its partner agencies to discuss recent and ongoing RecFIN projects and future directions for the program. The RecFIN Technical Committee guides project operations and has meetings twice a year. Staff on this committee have detailed knowledge of RecFIN operations, recreational fisheries data, survey sampling methods, and member agency rules and regulations in order to facilitate coordination of data collection and delivery. Representatives from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), NOAA Fisheries, Pacific Fisheries Management Council (PFMC), and the Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) will be in attendance. Tentative topics for discussion include:

  • QueryBuilder Phase 2 Updates and Demonstration
  • Model-based average weight estimation methodology
  • RecFIN Web API database access
  • WDFW Web API Data Upload Development
  • WDFW Fish ID Application
  • Metadata Application Demonstration and Discussion
  • NOAA MRIP State Partnership Plan Review
  • Updates to RecFIN Tech Committee Member Roster
